Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Fight For Right has provided persons with disabilities with more than 1,368 assistive products.
These products have helped people return to active lives and regain greater independence in their daily routines. Assistive products not only support physical recovery and help prevent complications such as muscle atrophy and pressure sores, but also restore confidence. Ultimately, they reduce isolation and create more opportunities for meaningful participation and self-fulfillment.

The Story of Bohdan and His Mother, Olha
For persons with disabilities, securing respect for their rights in public healthcare facilities is often difficult—and sometimes nearly impossible. Their needs may also become an opportunity for abuse and corruption by doctors and medical institutions. Even after the abolition of Ukraine’s Medical and Social Expert Commissions and the reform of the healthcare system, many avenues for profit-driven abuse remain. This affects not only adults with disabilities, but children as well.
Bohdan and his mother, Olha, are one example. Their names have been changed at the mother’s request. They live in a small city in central Ukraine. Although Bohdan’s diagnosis entitled him to two hearing aids, a public healthcare provider issued only one and offered to sell the second for UAH 50,000—an amount the family could not afford.
