International Advocacy
Fight For Right advocates for the rights and interests of persons with disabilities not only at the national level in Ukraine, but also internationally across Europe and around the world. We believe that the voices of Ukrainians with disabilities must be part of the international human rights movement and that our experience must be heard globally. That is why we regularly represent Ukraine’s disability community at the highest-level international forums, from the United Nations to the European Commission.
Fight For Right is the only Ukrainian human rights organization that is a member of the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL). Together with the European human rights community, we advocate for the right of persons with disabilities to independent living in both Kyiv and Brussels.
We also participate in the working groups of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and join forces with organizations of persons with disabilities from other countries pursuing European integration.
During the war, international advocacy has become not only an opportunity for Fight For Right to draw attention to the struggle of Ukraine’s disability community, but also a means of contributing to global change in how the rights and interests of persons with disabilities are reflected in humanitarian law and international practice.
